FAQ  Pixera

  • Is there a free version of PIXERA?

Yes, the free version of PIXERA is called CREATOR. It has no expiration date, no usage fees, and allows you to create and save all your projects.

In the free version, network communication is disabled, and the outputs have a watermark, but you can simply load the project created with CREATOR into a PIXERA HARDWARE or SOFTWARE version to run your show.

Get your CREATOR license at this link and start using PIXERA today.

  • Why should I choose PIXERA hardware?

If you want the highest level of reliability and performance, we recommend PIXERA hardware: the worry-free solution specifically designed and configured for PIXERA software.

When you receive your PIXERA hardware, simply open the box, turn it on, and you’re ready to go.

  • What warranty does PIXERA hardware have?

All PIXERA hardware comes with a 24-month warranty. For added peace of mind, warranty extensions of 12, 24, and 36 months are available, allowing you to extend the warranty to up to 5 years.

  • Why should I choose the PIXERA software version?

The PIXERA software version is ideal for those who want to reuse their existing hardware and start using PIXERA with a lower investment.

  • What hardware requirements are needed for PIXERA software?

PIXERA requires high-performance hardware running Windows 10 Professional and a dedicated NVIDIA graphics card.

Functionality with ATI cards is not guaranteed, and operation with integrated graphics cards or in virtual environments is not supported.

  • Can I add VIOSO autocalibration to a previously purchased PIXERA license or hardware without this option?

Yes, you can add VIOSO autocalibration later by paying the corresponding fee.

  • What limitations does the Player license have?

The Player license has a maximum of 2 timelines and does not allow timeline export, content transcoding, image sequence playback, preview editing, blend to cue, or integration with Unreal, Unity, and Notch content.

Using a Director to control clients with a Player license unlocks infinite timelines and preview editing and blend to cue features.

  • Can I add outputs or upgrade my PIXERA licenses?

Yes, you can add up to 8 outputs to each individual Player or Server dongle at any time.

Dongles of the same type can also be used together: for example, 2 Player dongles with 2 outputs each enable 4 Player outputs when connected to the same machine.

  • I purchased the Player software but now need Server features. What can I do?

No problem, you can upgrade your license from Player to Server at any time by paying the difference. The upgrade must be made for all outputs present in the license.

  • Are PIXERA software licenses expiring?

No, PIXERA licenses are perpetual and include one year of free upgrades. After this period, you can choose to purchase a 12- or 36-month UAP (Update Access Package) or continue using the latest release you’re eligible for.

Please note that this applies only to Software Dongles, while PIXERA Hardware benefits from lifetime software updates.
